description: Both theoretical and observational aspects of stellar astrophysics will be covered. It is proposed to develop theory of hot star atmospheres, taking into account non-equilibrium mechanisms; to develop theory of formation of spectral lines in stellar winds; to develop theory of difusion processes; to elaborate high precision statistical methods for processing complex astrophysical time series; to study radiative transfer in anisotropic stellar and planetary atmospheres; to elaborate evolutionary scenarios for binary systems with compact objects and for pre-cataclysmic variables: to study chemical composition and evolution of the final helium flash stars; to study mass loss from high mass stars in different types of galaxies; to study structure and evolution of WR stars, LBVs, symbiotic stars, Be/X-ray binaries etc.; to participate in the developing of photometric system for the GAIA space mission. Observations are planned at Tõravere (1.5- and 0.6-m telescopes) and on the big telescopes in a good astroclimate, archives of HST and other space and ground-based telescopes will be used.
